Ark-T staff had the opportunity to attend a day’s introductory training in Non-Violent Communication with Laura Harvey http://sharedspace.org.uk/ in the first week of March.
NVC is a communication approach that was first introduced by Marshall Rosenberg in the 1960s.
It is a way to have the relationships that you want to have with people. It is also a tool for social change and transformation, as it uses language to help find strategies for achieving shared human needs.
Funding for the staff team to attend was made available thanks to Children In Need and the Wates Foundation.
Ark-T intends to send staff on further NVC training and to establish an internal practice group so that staff can be supported to embed it in our ongoing practice.
