As well as providing great food the café provides great opportunities for training for independent living. A small paid staff are supported by a team of volunteers and people on placement. Young people and adults on work experience from schools and colleges are taught catering skills and food preparation. Working in partnership with the East Oxford Healthy Living Initiative the café has trained 15 people for the Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene.

The café is open Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm and offers a wide range of high quality coffee and tea, stunning chocolate, soft drinks, milk shakes with Cafe outdoors real fruit, baguettes, jacket potatoes, and a varied menu of main courses throughout the week. It uses a lot of locally grown fruit and vegetables and, whenever it can, uses Fairly Traded products (including all the tea and coffee). Promoting healthy eating, the café was featured in the Oxford Times and described as offering ‘freshly cooked food from wholesome ingredients’. Great food at great prices!
