Our Playspacers have been busy bees this past term!
We have been learning to cast using Plaster of Paris. To do this you create shapes on a slab of clay. For example, you can use certain tools to make indents. Then, you build a wall around your shape and pour Plaster of Paris into it. Once it has dried, you can peel off the clay base and get amazing shapes and textures! We even used some fruits and vegetables to cast shapes. We also painted the casts using lots of colours and imagination.
More recently, we have been working with wooden blocks to create abstract sculptures. It has been lots of fun to work with glue guns to stick the wood together after we have painted it.
The PlaySpacers have made some amazing progress over the past few months and have learnt to experiment and build their creative skillset.
