Giles Davies
Giles is a resident artist at the Ark T Centre
My work is concerned with states of consciousness, such as meditation and dreaming; investigating psychological space as if it were a place; responding to nature as a spiritual expression of self; and reflecting on the scale and ancientness of the cosmos. It could be called Romantic Surrealism.
To compliment and inform these invented scenes I draw and paint still lifes, landscapes, and people.
I try to bring an abstract layer of musicality to the paintings by creating rhythms, harmonies, dissonances, stillness and dynamism.
