The Welcome Space is a relaxed, friendly place where creativity and connection come together. Located in the heart of Templars Square shopping centre in Cowley, it’s easy to stop in and unwind, meet others, or maybe try something new.
It is a safe and inclusive space where everyone in our community has the opportunity to take part in the arts and experience the positive impact creativity can have on mental health.
We are open Monday to Thursday, 10–3, with a range of creative activities on offer such as macramé, knitting, weaving, drawing, painting, collage and creative writing — depending on the talents and interests of our volunteers, who support The Welcome Space. Become a volunteer
We’re expanding our creative wellbeing activities by inviting people to share ideas and tell us what they’d like to do, helping community groups connect further and opening access to support for everyone.

Come and visit, try something new, or have a rest in our cosy space. Little ones can play with our resources for under 5s when accompanied by a parent or carer, and people of all ages are warmly welcomed to get creative, read books and socialise.
We also host exhibitions including work produced by people in our community and in our programmes, and we often invite visitors to the Welcome Space to add responses and contributions to our displays.

People come here to make art, make friendships, and make change in their own lives and strengthen our community.
We co-design this space with the people that use it and we would love you to be part of that. Your input will be vital in helping to shape the space and improve access to creativity and wellbeing provision in Cowley.
